On Sunday 16th December, 140 people attended Quizmukah, a festive quiz night organised by Young World Jewish Relief, raising more than £3,000 for the humanitarian aid charity.

Held at Belsize Square Synagogue, pizza, and doughnuts were served, while the quiz included rounds on sport, movies, and music

Young WJR was formed in March 2009 and is made up of seven young professionals, who each bring a unique set of skills to the group.

The money raised from Quizmukah will support WJR’s vital work with vulnerable Jewish communities in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union, transforming lives and livelihoods. Working with those most in need – including older people, children, and people with disabilities – the charity helps to relieve poverty and find long term sustainable solutions.

WJR supporter Libby Dangoor and her team won the quiz and walked away with the first prize of festive treats for everyone on the team.

Cat Mansoor, Volunteer and Community Fundraising Coordinator at World Jewish Relief commented;

“It was a fantastic evening of friendly competition, with a great turn out and a really fun atmosphere. The YWJR committee did a fantastic job and the event raised a brilliant sum towards WJR’s critical work.”
