Zaparozhye School - Children's Home
This home offers a new start in life to 30 Jewish children at risk, orphans aged six to 17 from unstable and impoverished families, or those living on the streets.
Most have suffered unthinkable hardships such as abandonment, hunger, abuse and disease, but the Home provides a loving environment alongside practical necessities such as shelter, medical treatment, education and clothes.
The aims of the home are to create comfortable living conditions, to improve the mental and physical health of the children, to stimulate social adaption and to educate the children. There are currently 28 children living in the home.
WJR's grant supports the provision of meals, medical costs and the purchase of hygiene items.
