This programme is set up to address the needs of orphaned and abandoned children, those living at risk and in economically unstable conditions.
It includes children of various ages, from babies to teenagers, and living in the Former Soviet Union - countries where your help is desperately needed.
Children in desperate need.
There are children living in desperate circumstances all over the world, and they need our urgent help. Hundreds of abandoned children are condemned to a life on the streets while others exist in sub-human conditions in state orphanages. Some live with their parents but their situation is still so dire they rely on our basic packages of food for survival. The plight of abandoned children knows no religious, racial or physical boundaries so our work is spread across the world throughout Jewish communities and beyond. How we can perform miracles with your gift
Every child has the right to a loving home, food, warmth and an education, but sadly there are many Jewish children living in the FSU who can't depend on any of these things. WJR has programmes in place to fill the gaps caused by poverty and its consequences on family life, but we desperately need your money to provide for all those who need our help.
When you Sponsor a Child, your money will supoprt one of three key children's programmes we run in Ukraine and Russia.
Lyceum Shaalavim, Ukraine
This school accepts all children, even those with learning disabilities. This is very rare in Ukraine. Pupils are integrated as much as possible, and those with learning difficulties receive extra psychological help in the form of counselling.
Zaparozhye Children's Home and School, Ukraine
Some of the most vulnerable children in this region of Ukraine are taught at this school. Many pupils who attend have suffered from malnutrition and 80% have been neglected. The residential side of the project means children feel safe and cared for and can gain the full benefit of their learning environment.
Beis Yehudis School and Home, Russia
Many of the pupils at this project are orphans or have lived on the streets of Moscow, so having a warm and comfortable home transforms their lives. The curriculum is designed to build their confidence and to help them connect with their Jewish heritage.

Your money will help feed, clothe and support a child for an entire year. You'll also receive regular progress reports every six months, including letters and drawings from a child benefitting from this programme, so that you can see how you're helping with your donation and get a sense for the difference you are making.
