Mothers for a Better Future, Ukraine
This programme will assist mothers of 'at risk' children, aged between 20-40, to find employment and to support their families.
12% of mothers are constantly unemployed, 40% have very low-paid jobs and 50% are single mothers.
Appropriate support will be provided in a number of ways:
Group activities including psychological assistance, self-esteem training, meetings with professionals, discussions on family issues
Employment training courses, comprising the search for employment, employers' requirements, success in interviews, CV writing skills, basic computer literacy and work relations. Individual mentoring will continue once the person has found work.
An employment coordinator will aim to match women with jobs
The programme will run for one year in Krivoy Rog and Dnepropetrovsk, where unemployment is high and poverty rampant.
