The centre, to serve some 1000 people, will become the hub for the whole community

A Senior Club is also in operation

As part of an exciting Jewish renaissance in Poland, a new community centre in Krakow is due to open in spring 2008.

The centre, to serve some 1,000 people, will become the hub for the whole community, including the elderly and Jewish students studying at Krakow University.

It will provide a range of services to accommodate both their current and future needs, as well as interaction between generations. HRH The Prince of Wales is Patron of this project.

Hundreds are rediscovering their Jewish roots and it is providing a ‘popular’ route into the community

While building work is underway, Jewish university students are already enjoying the benefits of its off-site facilities through regular activities organised for them at the Jewish Students Centre.

Hundreds are rediscovering their Jewish roots and it is providing a ‘popular’ route into the community, from which they have been detached for so long.

A Senior Club is also in operation, in which elderly Polish Jews get the chance to meet, participate in health programmes and enjoy social activities which dispel their sense of isolation and loneliness.
