Vocational Training for Impoverished Georgians
Based in Tbilisi, this project aims to provide vocational training in dressmaking, insurance and cookery for impoverished Georgians, with the emphasis on reaching women, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and ethnic minorities, including Jews.
Previous training programmes in dressmaking and English/IT have led to the employment of the majority of course participants.
Currently, three courses are in operation, and WJR funding will finance a further three in these very marketable skills.
It is anticipated that employment will be found by 100% of the 54 participants who receive both academic and practical, "on the job" training.
