This work was part of an holistic relief and recovery mission following the cyclone and the contamination of water points in affected areas. In the rural regions of Bangladesh, most people used surface water for drinking, washing and cooking prior to the cyclone. However, it will be up to six months before surface water sources can be replenished by the rains.

Contaminated water sources are extremely dangerous, putting people, children in particular, at risk of contracting water bourn diseases, which can be life threatening.
