Hesed Nahalot Avot Azriel: Replacing Glass in Windows
KEY FACTS
97 clients received new windows
These elderly are now able to wear single layers in their homes without feeling the cold.
The majority of Hesed clients live in old, unrenovated apartments. The windows were in desperate need of repair before the winter, to prevent the elderly from paying expensive heating bills, only to lose the heat to the outside world.
Before the onset of winter 2007, 97 clients received new windows. These clients not only benefit from windows that work, but also from improvements to their health.
Hesed’s intervention through blankets, medication and food are more likely to achieve the desired aim if homes are not draughty.
Rather than walk around inside wearing layers of clothing, like others, these elderly are now able to wear single layers in their homes without feeling the cold.
