Sri Lanka: Disabled Children’s Centre – Galle

In partnership with the Senahasa Trust, WJR has funded the equipping and improving of a Disabled Children’s Centre and audiology unit in the Galle district of Sri Lanka.

The new centre will include a therapy play area and staff accommodation.

The devastated families in the region are traditionally poor and the rate of congenital birth defects is high.

The centre will provide classification and diagnosis, physiotherapy, play therapy and speech therapy.

It will be staffed by local paediatricians, nurses and speech therapists, all working pro bono.
