Guitarist jams to the tune of WJR

Over 1,300 people logged onto their computers on the 27th May to watch guitar enthusiast Ben Fraser take part in an amazing 24 hour sponsored Guitar Jam which raised over £500 for Young WJR- a newly launched initiative aimed at 21-35 year olds that encourages a new generation to support WJR.

Through the wonders of modern technology Ben played his guitar to a live audience online allowing listeners to tune in and hear him play popular music.

Ben said of his achievement: "After being awake for 28 hours and playing my guitar for 24 hours, my fingers throbbed but it has been an exciting experience and really worthwhile! The support has been absolutely fantastic and I thank everyone that sponsored me because without their support this would have not been possible."

Laura Grossman, Community Fundraiser, WJR, commented: "Ben's initiative is a real first for WJR and I would like to thank him for his passion, drive and remarkable achievement in this truly unique and creative fundraising event."
