Hundreds of people are sharing bagels with friends, family and colleagues in support of WJR throughout the year. Dough was raised around the world as far as New York and Israel.

WJR loves bagels and we believe that it's always a good time to host a Big Bagel event (except, perhaps, over Passover...). Hosting a Big Bagel event is simple, fun and a great way of catching up with friends and family whilst raising dough for those desperately in need. How you host is up to you - you could choose to gather friends at home, round up colleagues at work, bring your local synagogue congregation together or create a buzz at your child's school.

Hosts will be sent a free fundraising pack containing everything needed to create a successful event; themed invitations, balloons, key rings, and suggestions for delicious bagel fillings from renowned chef Annabel Karmel.

For further information on how you can get involved in The Big Bagel 2012 and to register for your free fundraising guide please call 020 8736 1250 or visit www.wjr.org.uk/bigbagel.

We have had all sorts of events ranging from Big Bagel sponsored walks, mother and baby Big Bagels and a Big Bagel quiz, perhaps you can think of something extra special to do for 2012? Whether your event is a simple Sunday brunch or something with a twist - you will be making a difference.

To sign up for your free fundraising pack which includes all sorts of goodies including bagel themed invitations, simply register your details below and we'll get one to you.

Why should I get involved?

Most of us would like to spend more quality time with our loved ones or colleagues and also to do more for charity, but it isn't always easy to find the opportunity. Take part in The Big Bagel and you can do both. We're inviting the whole community to get involved and play their part in transforming the lives of people in desperate need by hosting a fun social event.

How will the money I raise be spent?

The money raised at your Big Bagel Brunch will be used to help lift people from a life of poverty. We fund a range of programmes in the Former Soviet Union and beyond, helping vulnerable children, families, elderly people and communities. When you host an event, you can decide whether you would like to allocate the proceeds to supporting Jewish or non-Jewish communities, or both.

Where should I hold my event?

The Big Bagel can be held anywhere: at home, at work, at your child's school, or at your synagogue or community venue. All you need is some bagels and people to share them with!

How many people should I invite?

You may have any number of guests from five to 500! There's no upper or lower limit on the size of the Big Bagel. If you are planning a large event or something a little out of the ordinary, let us know and we will try and send along a photographer - you might even see your brunch appear in the Jewish Chronicle.

When should I hold my event?

You can host your Big Bagel event at anytime of the year that suits you and your guests.

How will I raise money at my brunch?

It is entirely up to you. You might choose to charge people an entry fee or simply ask for a voluntary contribution. Extra funds can be generated with a raffle or auction. If you want more ideas on raising money at your event, there will be further suggestions in the fundraising pack.

I want to hold a brunch, how do I take part?
